O rings

Daemar supplies 13 varieties of O-rings.

For one of the broadest selections of essential industrial components in the market, look no further than Daemar Inc. This distributor offers an unparalleled selection of products, including sealing, retaining, sliding, protective, and aligning items. The sealing group includes 13 varieties of O rings, plus custom extrusions and pack programs.

O rings are the most popular seals in today’s industrial landscape. Simple, economical, and easy to install, they can seal pressures higher than 5,000 pounds per square inch in static and dynamic applications.

Sophisticated in its applications

O rings may be simple in concept, but they can be very sophisticated in their applications – including use as a double-acting seal. Daemar offers these components in 349 standard inch sizes, as set up by the Society of Automotive Engineers through Aerospace Standard 568. Customized rings are also available, for sizes outside of these standards.

Types of O rings available from Daemar include the following:

  • Buna (Nitrile). Excellent resistance to many liquids, good tensile strength, high elongation, low compression set, high resistance to abrasion and tear.
  • Viton (Fluorocarbon). Excellent high-temperature stability and high resistance to chemicals, petroleum, weathering, ozone, and oxygen.
  • Backup. Washer-like components for preventing seals from extruding through gaps when under pressure.
  • EPDM (Ethylene propylene). High tensile strength, elongation, good low-temperature flexibility, excellent heat aging.
  • Silicone. High resistance to temperature extremes and dry heat.
  • HSN-80. Superior to NBR in low-brittle temperature, heat, and oil; high resistance to sour gasoline and ozone.
  • Aflas (TFE). An advantageous combination of high-temperature, chemical, and electrical resistance.
  • Teflon. Impervious to harsh chemicals, acid, and gases. Recommended for applications that involve high temperatures or corrosive liquids or gases. Fabricated according to military specifications.
  • Quad-rings. Excellent sealing characteristics for many applications.
  • PTFE encapsulated. Recommended for harsh sealing environments, decreasing downtime wherever corrosive liquids or gases can cause premature seal failure.
  • Metallic. Designed to prevent gas or liquid leakage under adverse sealing conditions.
  • Kalrez. Resists more than 1,800 chemicals while providing high-temperature stability.
  • Custom vulcanized. Tailored to any specific application requirements.
