Companies have relied on Daemar for 47 years.

For more than 45 years, manufacturers and other businesses across Canada have known to trust Daemar Inc. for essential industrial components. A broad range of sectors – agriculture, construction, food processing, forestry, oil and gas, even the green industry – rely on the company for the best component portfolio. Daemar’s unique stature in Canadian industry today is the result of decades of growth and expansion, from a modest distribution firm to a major supplier.

Launched with three product lines

Jan. 1, 1973 marks Daemar’s birthday. That was the day when a new distribution company was founded in Oakville, Ont., west of Toronto. Named Cartec, this firm had only three product lines – Waldes retaining rings, Seeger metric rings, and Devan keysteel. Cartec expanded its component portfolio over the next seven years as it began supplying other items, like Cleveland hardware, KMC stampings, Standard steel, and GACO oil seals.

1980 turned out to be a breakthrough year, as Cartec launched a sales and warehouse facility in Edmonton. Four years later, the company opened another branch in the Vancouver area and changed its name to Daemar – Distribution Engineered Marketing.

Daemar was appointed as the exclusive Canadian distributor for Kalrez and Rotor Clip in 1986. The same year, the company opened yet another sales and warehouse facility in Montreal. Over the next few years, Daemar increased its component portfolio even more when it was chosen as the master distributor for Caplugs in Canada and added mechanical seals to its fluid-sealing inventory.

The Daemar website was launched in 1996, bringing the company into the digital age. In 2000, Daemar opened its first American sales office and warehouse facility in Georgia, marking the launch of Daemar Inc. U.S.A. The company went on to launch its online catalogue in 2010 and add disc springs to its inventory in 2012. It also doubled the sizes of its Edmonton warehouse in 2007 and the Montreal one in 2015.

Today, Daemar still retains its headquarters in Oakville. But it continues to grow as it maintains its international status as the top supplier for essential components for industry.
