engineered fastener solutions

Four kinds of engineered fasteners are available.

Companies across Canada rely on Daemar Inc. for its unparalleled supply of essential components for industry – a lineup that includes seals, retaining rings, bushings, caps, plugs, shim rolls, and far more. Another example is engineered fastener solutions, all of them produced by major manufacturers as non-threaded solutions for many applications.

These fasteners come in a broad variety of forms, including self-compensating hoses, constant-section retaining rings, and push-on or plastic fasteners.

The four main categories

What distinguishes these engineered fasteners from other fastening units available on the market is that they are designed and developed to have specific, individual traits, or to perform specific functions in specific ways. Daemar distributes the following four main categories of engineered fastener solutions from its wealthy inventory:

  • Constant-section retaining rings. This group of uniform section rings works in housing or on a shaft just as well, or better, than a stamped ring does. Daemar offers both internal and external constant-section retaining rings with various kinds of cross-sectional shapes.
  • DMR plastic fasteners. These engineered fastener solutions have been moulded primarily in tough, corrosion-resistant Nylon 6/6, and other materials are available upon request. The Daemar selection includes screws, nuts, washers, spacers, bushings, panel fasteners, hole plugs, circuit-board hardware, hose clamps, wire-handling clips, and cable ties.
  • DMR push-on fasteners. These are hat and retainer fasteners that can hold components on plain round shafts, rods, and axles. They are pushed onto shafts or studs, which does away with the need to find threads or use torque wrenches. Push-on fasteners also lower costs by eliminating the requirements for notching, threading, drilling, and other secondary operations.
  • Hose clamps. Self-compensating hose clamps are available from Daemar in standard hose sizes. These units are ideal for low-pressure applications in single-wire, double-wire, and constant-tension-band configurations. Hose clamps expand and contract with hoses in response to temperature change.

Daemar also carries pliers, applicators, dispensers, and other retaining-ring installation tools, as well as automatic assembly tools for installing retaining rings. DMR retaining-ring kits and packs eliminate the guesswork in choosing parts and save time in part sorting.
