Protech seals

Bearing isolators are a Daemar product staple.

A wide range of shaft seals makes up just one part of the unparalleled range and diversity of essential industrial components available from Daemar Inc. Engineers get the high levels of quality and performance that they need from these units, plus a high amount of savings in cost of ownership. For instance, Daemar offers Protech seals – a family of bearing isolators that is designed to protect bearings with no lubricant leakage to the atmosphere, and with total exclusion of contaminants from the housing.

A unique, simple two-piece design

The operational lifespans of bearings can be reduced significantly by even a small amount of water or dirt. Although lip seals are designed to keep all lubricants in, they sometimes fail to prevent contaminants from entering too. These bearing isolators provide a much more reliable solution, as they are built from a unique technology for complete bearing protection, a result of years of development.

Protech seals are based on a unique, simple, unitized, two-piece design that is usually produced in chemical-resistant PTFE. The Protech product lineup includes a complete range of complementary designs that offer top performance in a variety of applications. Fourteen unique variations are available from Daemar – including Types FS and FN, which are perfect for tasks with pressurized, flooded, or sealing bearing housings. Both of these bearing isolators have internal lip seals that improve their capabilities of keeping contaminants out and stopping leaks.

These bearing isolators are made out of high-grade PTFE composites, so they can perform a wide range of operating abilities, like applications in extreme temperatures or chemical environments. Workers often use them as substitutes for existing sealing devices, with no changes of equipment required. Alternate PTFE fillers make them useful in the pharmaceutical and food-processing industries, and they can also prolong equipment lifespans in mining, pulp and paper, and oil and gas.

In addition to Protech seals, numerous other kinds of shaft seals are available from the Daemar team. Key examples: V-rings, end covers, and sanitary gaskets. The supplier has the widest inventory of shaft seals in the country.
