Robotic welding is just one of Matritech's many unique capabilities.

Matritech Inc. provides serious advantages for Canadian industry, as a provider of custom metal components and more. In addition to dedicated client service and serving as a one-stop shop for all of its products and services, the company also excels with state-of-the-art technology – including robotic welding and bending capabilities.

Since its founding in 1989, Matritech has continually invested in new equipment to keep pace with today’s industrial needs. Robotic welding and bending machinery are the new standard, and will be even more so in the future.

Fifteen years of robotic advances

In 2003, Matritech took an enormous step in its progress as a company by investing in its first robotic welding equipment. Today, the company owns three multi-axle welding robots. In collaboration with Matritech’s pulsed arc welding technology, these robots produce complex welding assemblies with perfect precision, as well as high repeatability and quality.

Matritech offers manual welding for smaller-scale productions, in addition to its robotic service. The entire welding department can tackle steel, stainless steel, and aluminum assembly projects. Among the competitive advantages of the company’s machine-welded parts are the Matritech team’s ingenuity for finding the rights solutions, the top quality of tooling used, and the experience and high standards of the firm’s robot programmers.

The company’s next giant leap into the world of robotics occurred in 2014, when it introduced a robotic bending cell to its facility. The Trumpf Trubend Cell 7000 was the first such machine in the country, and it has helped Matritech to increase its production capacity as well as the quality of products; it has also offered added flexibility, by enabling customers to switch between high-volume stamping runs and standard bending short runs.

The bending cell has two gripping arms that enable it to take laid-flat pieces, analyze them, complete the operation, and put them on a conveyor with impeccable synchronization and no employee intervention. This robotic equipment benefits Matritech and its clients with high speed and efficiency, minimal setup times, and the ability to create complex parts for multiple applications.

Robotic equipment keeps Matritech on the cutting edge.
