Theft is an issue for many companies — from retailers to industrial plants and warehouses. It’s what makes security a must-have for any organization, and Canadian Portable Structures (CPS) can help. The Burlington, Ont.-based company is a leader in the design, engineering and installation of portable structures for virtually every purpose, including security buildings.

CPS Sentinel Security Buildings allow organizations to control who comes in and out of their buildings. The company’s guard houses offer efficient, climate-controlled headquarters for security personnel.

The Sentinel line of guard houses is available in two basic types: bypass buildings and walk-through models. Sentinel bypass buildings come with either flush roof or overhanging roof for protection against the elements, while the Sentinel walk-through model requires all incoming and outgoing personnel and visitors to pass a security check. Walk-through buildings often double as a fully climate-controlled shipping/receiving office.

A variety of styles and sizes are available — from one-person kiosks to custom multi-room units with washroom facilities.

The guard houses are built with floor framing to accommodate 50 lbs/sq.ft. floor loading and span. They feature an easy-to-maintain vinyl interior finish on the walls and floor, and a 29-gauge ribbed steel exterior siding with baked enamel finish available in 14 colours. The buildings come with electrical packages installed. The standard package includes 240-volt baseboard heaters, fluorescent lights, duplex receptacles and more.

CPS can also provide fully custom-designed buildings. And, like all CPS buildings, the guard houses are guaranteed against defects in workmanship and materials for one year. Another guarantee, the company says, is that customers will receive a first-class product, delivered on-time. In fact, some of the company’s standard products can be on site in less than a week.
