When open, it allows easy access to either retrieve the cover or remove the entire cap system from the grommet. Round grommets are available in a range of colours, including black, beige, putty, walnut, white and light grey. Alternatively, plated finishes are also available, including chrome, antique or bright brass. 

The rectangular grommets are designed to accommodate openings measuring approximately 3-¼ inches by 1-⅞ inches (8.25 cm by 4.76 cm). They can be supplied with a textured or smooth finish in black, putty, walnut, white or light grey. These grommets are available with a body that is split at one end to accommodate oversized plugs and connector bodies.

Additional types of grommets

Also available is grommeting that can be simply cut to size and inserted in any panel cutout, no matter the size or shape. It is available in serrated or un-serrated, and extruded or continuous types. In addition, paper grommets are available for computer printers that will prevent paper jams and keep paper feeding smoothly. They can be installed on any type of printer and, depending on the model, can accommodate computer paper up to 17 inches wide.
