Cords Canada has a reputation for being able to supply any part a customer is looking for. If it can't be found in its comprehensive catalogue, the company will track the part down, wherever it may be.

Cords Canada didn't always have such a broad offering. In the beginning, it focused on electric cord manufacturing. It began in 1947 when Larry Caplan founded the company. The power supply cords it made were used for tools, appliances and electronic equipment.

The company soon began innovating, as it received design awards from the National Industrial Council for its kettle cord plugs, trouble light handles and grounded attachment plugs. The company also invented the Tridget, a three-way connector that was one-third the size of those available at the time. That design became the model for modern three-way connectors.

During those years, Cords Canada became the premier cord manufacturer in the country, and originated many of the automated processes still in use today.

It was in 1973 that the company shifted its focus to distributing and sourcing plastic components. It sold off its manufacturing facilities and began developing a comprehensive selection of plastic parts. The company now serves customers in all types of industries, including agriculture, electronics, furniture, chemical, machine shops and food processing. The products it supplies are made by a large group of industry-leading manufacturers, many of which Cords Canada is the exclusive or prime distributor for.

Despite the expansion into new markets and industries, the company is still the ideal source for power supply cords. Its offering includes jacketed, parallel and heavy-duty cords. But today, the company's selection also includes fasteners, spacers, strain reliefs, masking products and much more.
