Cordis electronic proportional pressure controls by Clippard, available from Wainbee

Wainbee Limited prides itself on the diversity of the equipment it supplies. This includes products that offer precision control – such as Clippard’s Cordis electronic proportional pressure controls. Clippard is renowned for reliability, innovation, and a focus on miniature pneumatics, and these controls use the proven EVP and DVP lines of proportional valves, enabling steady, repeatable downstream pressure as demand or processes change. This gives users precise, linear pressure control within a closed-loop system, with ultra-high resolution and repeatability.

Cordis… A revolutionary microcontroller primed for escape velocity

Each of these Cordis controls uses a microcontroller, integrated pressure sensor, and a pair of Clippard proportional valves. The inlet valve is connected to the moderately regulated supply pressure, while the exhaust valve is connected to a port that vents excess pressure to the atmosphere. When the user increases a command, the inlet valve opens up to allow supply pressure to pass over the sensor element; this provides an active feedback for the microcontroller to satisfy the set point in the process. If the sensor detects a value higher than the set point at any time, the exhaust valve will modulate open to vent off the excess pressure, in order to keep a stable and accurate control pressure in the process.

Among the many advantages of using these pressure controls: smooth linear control; integrated internal or external sensor feedback; multiple flow configurations; static or dynamic applications with the same proportional control; proportional fill and bleed control; customizable pressure ranges and mounting options; and no integral bleed required.

Users can adapt these pressure controls to a variety of sensors that can close the loop around not just pressure, but also vacuum or flow. Wainbee can provide application specifications to confirm viability.
