Continental has been a major supplier since 1963.

After close to 60 years of operation, Continental Conveyor Ltd. continues to serve businesses across Canada as the ultimate one-stop shop for conveyors and related industrial solutions. The company makes more than just complete material-handling systems, though. It also offers individual conveyor parts, components, and accessories – ideal for clients who would rather replace specific components in their systems rather than invest in whole new systems. From idlers to specialty rubber products, a full range is available.

Minimizing damage to belts, idlers

The three main types of conveyor components available are belt conveyor idlers, belt conveyor pulleys, and conveyor covers. Belt conveyor idlers come in two distinct models, Series 25000 and Series 30000, both of which are built for continuous operation, high capacities, and heavy abrasive material. Series 30000 units are fitted with heavy concentric tubing, combination contact and labyrinth seals, oversized shafts, heavy stamped end discs, deep-grooved ball bearings, stamped bearings, and seal retainers. All of these idlers have rolls with diameters of five or six inches and belt widths of up to five feet. Examples available include flat-belt-carrying rubber-cushion, training, picking-roll, and troughing idlers.

Also available are belt conveyor pulleys. Continental designs all of these conveyor parts to meet strict standard specifications. Among the variations in the company’s portfolio are lagged-wing pulleys, spiral-drum pulleys, and spiral-wing pulleys. Lagged-wing pulleys provide great tractive capacity while minimizing wear from material buildup. Spiral-drum pulleys decrease belt wear and misalignment, while spiral-wing pulleys have self-cleaning features. Continental can customize these units by changing specifications according to customer needs.

Conveyor covers, the third main category of conveyor parts, are units that minimize damage to belts and idlers, prevent material loss, and increase employee safety by protecting material and other components. Continental systems have specialized mounting brackets, extended sides to enclose return belt runs, symmetrical design for fast and easy installation, and wide support bands to stop gaps.

In addition, Continental makes impact cassettes and specialty rubber products. Whatever material-handling needs a company may have, whether big or small, the company’s large and diverse component portfolio has a solution.
