industrial belt-conveyor pulleys

Belt-conveyor pulleys are available from Continental.

For close to 60 years, Continental Conveyor Ltd. has remained a leader in the manufacture of systems and equipment for handling bulk materials. The company makes a wide range of conveyor equipment and components to satisfy virtually any applications, and one example is standard and custom industrial belt-conveyor pulleys.

The Continental team designs and fabricates these pulleys to suit every individual need that a client may have, and they come in three standard designs.

Skills, training, and experience

Customized units are also available, aside from the standard categories. Continental can make modifications to its standard drum-style industrial belt-conveyor pulleys to meet specific customer needs. The company can also engineer special self-cleaning pulleys for any task; for instance, one client received a custom pulley with stainless steel construction and a fully open design. Continental’s crew has the skills, training, and experience to produce a belt-conveyor pulley suitable for any scenario.

Continental Conveyor makes a standard lineup of welded steel conveyor pulleys in various kinds of designs. Among the options for industrial belt-conveyor pulleys that are available:

  • Lagged wing pulleys. These are ideal for applications in which a buildup of material between the conveyor belt and pulley is causing belt misalignment and excessive wear. They also suit cases that required higher traction capacity between pulley and belt.
  • Spiral drum pulleys. These units can help reduce belt wear and misalignment, as well as the potential for material buildup between the pulley and belt in applications in which self-cleaning wing pulleys are impractical. Each unit is formed by a pair of vertical steel flat bars wound helically around a drum.
  • Spiral wing pulleys. Recommended for applications that require reduction in material buildup between belt and pulley. These units have self-cleaning features that begin when rotation starts and material is discharged to both sides of the conveyor. Each of these pulleys is made by helically winding a pair of flat steel bars around the wing pulley. This design minimizes belt misalignment, decreases belt wear, and is available in either a flat or crown face in most standard sizes.
