Continental supplies idlers and pulleys for a ship-loading system in British Columbia.

Manufacturing facilities cannot run without reliable conveyor equipment these days. Material-handling systems are vital to keeping operations running smoothly and efficiently in many industries. Continental Conveyor is proud to play a key role in Canadian industry by offering a broad variety of conveying equipment and systems. The company is edging towards its 60th year of serving as the ideal one-stop shop for bulk material-handling systems, including conveyors and their relevant components.

From mining to food processing

Continental Conveyor was established in 1963. It specializes in the design, engineering, and manufacture of bulk conveyor equipment, including belt and screw conveyors, bucket elevators, stackers, feeders, and more. The wide range of sectors and markets that benefit from Continental’s conveyor supplies includes pulp and paper, mining, cement, reconstituted wood panels, smelting and reduction, food processing, quarrying, chemicals, power plants, and ports.

The company operates two modern plants and rationalizes production between them; these plants are located in Napanee, Ont. and Thetford Mines, Que. An experienced crew of ten engineers, 25 mechanical designers, 20 support staff, ten sales professionals, and 150 manufacturing employees works for Continental, and these workers use numerous specialty production machines and quality-control practices. With these machines and processes, the staff enhance Continental’s production facilities and maintain exacting controls over manufacturing tolerances.

Customers can choose from many conveyor supplies, like the following: belt, screw, and en masse chain conveyors; bucket elevators; vibrating, weigh, and apron feeders; screw and stoker reclaimers; stackers; and conveyor components, including idlers, pulleys, covers, impact cassettes, and specialty rubber products.

Continental is more than a product provider. The company also designs and develops complete engineered systems. One example is a belt conveyor system with horizontal curves, designed to handle wood products. A giant ship-loading system that handles aggregate in British Columbia uses Continental’s idlers, pulleys, and other components. Regardless of the application, the Continental team has what it takes to create or improve any material-handling system.

Businesses across the country rely on Continental as a single source of all mechanical bulk material-handling equipment, systems, and components for almost any industrial need.
