Belt conveyor idlers are available from Continental.
Several kinds of conveyor components are available from Continental Conveyor Ltd., including two kinds of belt conveyor idler. The Series 30000 idlers have been designed for continuous operation, as well as high capacities and heavy, abrasive material in which the width of the belt limits the lump size.
Continental constructs these components with many parts that fulfill their own important functions, to keep them functioning at the peak of their ability.
With triple bearing protection
Each Series 30000 belt conveyor idler is available in belt widths of up to five feet and comes in a wide range of variations, like flat-belt-carrying rubber cushion, training idlers, picking roll, and variable troughing idlers. Return belt idlers are available in rubber-tread, beater, and training types. Continental assembles these units with the following parts:
Continental equips all of the rolls with precision ball bearings, and a separate cartridge-type contact and labyrinth grease seal provides triple bearing protection with neoprene contact members and grease-filled clearances. The counter-bored outer shell and stamped-end disc are swaged to perfect concentricity and constantly welded to form an airtight concentric unit. The stamping cavity is filled with grease before assembly, and its large diameter enables easy movement of grease to the bearings. The efficient grease-in, cartridge seal, and large reservoir of grease lead to an extended lifespan.
The through-shaft of every belt conveyor idler, measuring 20 millimetres in diameter, is machine at both ends. The bearings are factory-adjusted by press-fitting the cartridge seal and bearing into the roll-end disc. The inverted-angle base has slotted foot straps that enable simple, quick mounting and alignment. The formed steel brackets are jig-welded to the based to ensure roll alignment. Ribbed-end brackets are contoured to offer a large clearance, so that spilled material does not stall the rolls.
