Pepperl+Fuchs is dedicated to developing innovative products that promote plant safety. One of the newest additions to its lineup, the SC-System, is an extremely compact signal conditioner for non-hazardous areas. It was designed with the same high standards for safety and reliability that has earned Pepperl+Fuchs its worldwide reputation for intrinsically safe barriers, and is loaded with unique features.

Key features and advantages

The main function of a signal conditioner is to prevent hazardous voltage from reaching the control side. Pepperl+Fuchs’ SC-System does this and so much more. The UL-certified unit ensures safe isolation with a three-kV test voltage and a 300-V working voltage to optimize worker safety and equipment protection. It is designed to withstand high levels of vibration when placed near operational equipment, and offers an extended temperature range between -25 and 70 degrees C, allowing maximum flexibility.

In addition, it is one of the most compact units of its kind, measuring just six-millimetres wide and 97-millimetres high. This slim size makes it ideal for use in cabinets with a small footprint, or in narrow spaces between cable ducts.

The end result is a system with higher availability, greater temperature stability, and improved signal transmission quality.

Available in Canada

Pepperl+Fuchs’ SC-System is available in Canada from Process Instruments & Components (P.I.C.), an established Canadian industrial controls distributor. The Markham, Ont.-based company offers products from leading manufacturers like Pepperl+Fuchs, and has experience serving a wide range of industries.
