The origins of Collison-Goll

The company was founded by partners Harvey Collison and Oliver Goll in 1946. The business began as a humble screw machine shop operating out of the garage of a small house in the west end of Toronto. 

From the start, the partners considered providing excellent customer service as a critical aspect of the business. The pair also placed importance on the sharing of their knowledge and know-how.

After beginning as a job shop, the company later began selling spare parts for screw machines from the industry’s leading manufacturers, such as CVA, BSA, and Brown and Sharpe.

It was in 1959 that company decided to separate into two complimentary businesses. One company would sell and service screw machines under the name of Screw Machine Services (now SMS Machine Tools), while the other would focus on manufacturing machined products under the name Collison-Goll.

In its effort to provide customers with world-class service, Collison-Goll has never stopped expanding its capabilities. The company’s 70-year history of serving the industry has resulted in an exceptional level of experience and understanding. Today, Collison-Goll can manufacture custom-machined products for practically any application.
