CNC wire bending machines make bending an easy task

Great improvements in the fabrication industry have led to the production of complex designs from simple materials like wires and metal sheets. Machines used for these processes have greatly improved over the years. 

Wire bending operations have become much easier with the invention of CNC wire bender machines. The whole bending process has been automated, ensuring that the operator has minimal interaction with the wire. The process is now carried out from the comfort of a chair and a desktop computer. 

The input of a CNC wire bender comes from a connected PC or storage device. The machine has a USB port that allows the user to connect it to a PC. Various types of software that are compatible with the machine are used to produce the desired design. In most cases, the design is a series of vector lines joined together to form interesting shapes. One can also produce a design from an independent computer, save it in a storage device, and transfer it to the wire bending machine through the USB port.

Once the operator feeds the wire bender with the desired design, it goes ahead to produce an exact duplicate using the wire fed into its feeder unit. The bending head of the machine has a series of rollers that are controlled by the machine’s microprocessor. The rollers bend the wire into the desired shapes and send it to the output unit. The software used in this machine is able to convert basic vector lines into bending directions used by the rollers. Bending machines are not only used to bend wire, but also to produce interesting circular curves.
