Maximum impact and wear resistance

All of the wear components in these chopper pumps are cast steel and heat-treated for maximum impact and wear resistance. These heavy-duty patented parts create the ultimate pumps for handling tough solids when they are combined; Vaughan has used this same basic concept in its vertical wet-well design for nearly 50 years.

This line of chopper pumps achieves chopping through the scissor action of the leading edges of the impeller vanes when they cut against the opposing edges of the cutter bar. All solids are chopped as they enter between the cutter bar and the impeller vanes. The smaller solids are pumped easily by the centrifugal action of the impeller. Various options for chopper-pump configurations are available for any individual application.

Other features and advantages of Vaughan chopper pumps: guaranteed non-clogging; dry suction that lifts up to 22 feet; flow of more than 13,000 gallons per minute; hydraulic efficiencies of more than 70 per cent; discharge sizes from three to 16 inches; heat-treated and hardened components; and direct or belt-drive configurations available.
