Chevrier offers versatile transmitter with a range of air velocity probes

Chevrier Instruments can supply the Class 310 air velocity transmitter from KIMO Canada, as well as a range of interchangeable probes. The selection of probes available makes this transmitter suitable for a variety of applications, as they can take air velocity and temperature readings across a range of distances.

Transmitter features

This transmitter has two inputs for interchangeable probes, and it can display up to four parameters simultaneously on a graphic back-lit display. The unit offers four visual and audible alarms that use a bicolour LED. The transmitter also has two analog outputs and is optionally available with two additional outputs, Ethernet communication and a MODBUS network RS485 system.

Interchangeable probes

A number of interchangeable probes are available from Chevrier Instruments for use with the Class 310 transmitter. They include SVH, SVS and SVO types.

• The SVS type is a stainless steel hotwire probe. It can measure air velocities from zero to 30 metres a second.
• The SVO type is an omnidirectional air velocity probe. It is capable of measuring air velocities from zero to five metres a second. This probe is supplied with a tripod and transport case.
• The SVH type probes are differentiated by using a vane to measure air velocity. They are available in three models with vanes of different diameters, including 14-, 70- and 100-millimetre diameters. The 14-millimetre model is capable of measuring air velocity from zero to 25 metres a second, while the 70- and 100-millimetre models can measure velocities from -5 to 35 metres a second.

All of these different probes are 300 millimetres in length, have a two-metre PVC cable with a hermetic connector, and are capable of measuring temperature.
