Chevrier Instruments calibrates, repairs and sells all types of measurement control instrumentation. The company has been in business for more than 40 years, and since the beginning it has been dedicated to professional service and customer satisfaction.

Company history

The history of Chevrier Instruments dates back to 1975 when it was founded by Jacques Chevrier. The company began in the basement of the family home on Fortin Street in Montréal-Nord. Later, the business moved into a small house they built in the backyard. The company was soon working with many renowned suppliers such as ENFM, Alnor/TSI, Dwyer, Cooper, Fast-Heat and Badotherm.

Chevrier moved offices in 1983, and again in 1988 when it purchased a building in its current location on Gouin Boulevard in Montréal-Nord. At this stage, the company installed a calibration wind tunnel and published its first catalogue.

As the company grew, Jacques Chevrier’s eldest sons Denis and Pierre learned the trade by repairing hundreds of manometers while pursuing their education. Later, their youngest brother Marc joined the business, too. Now they form the second generation management of the family company. The business saw its third generation join the enterprise in 2011, with the hiring of Denis’ eldest daughter, Catherine.

Capabilities

When Denis joined the business, he was the company’s sole technician in instrumentation. Back then, the work mostly consisted of the repair and calibration of Bourdon tube gages, various thermometers and transforming dry gauges into glycerine-filled gauges.

Today, the company can calibrate a comprehensive variety of instruments and calibrators, including all types of temperature probes, temperature calibrators, multimeters, ampmeter clamps and more.

According to the company, over its many years in business, the focus has never changed.
