The Type 3050 series by Brüel & Kjær

Durham Instruments teams up with Brüel & Kjær to offer a variety of measurement solutions, including the LAN-XI range of data-acquisition modules. The core of this group is the Type 3050 multi-purpose four- and six-channel series, designed to cover an unparalleled spectrum of sound and vibration measurement tasks. These input modules are available in two basic variants, allowing users to choose between four and six high-precision channels with an input range from DC to 51.2 kilohertz.

Suitable for various work scenarios

With LAN-XI hardware, these data-acquisition modules are versatile devices and the most flexible input modules on the market. The Type 3050 series works equally well as a lone-module system or as part of a large LAN-XI measurement system. Each of these units has interchangeable front panels that offer the flexibility to work with a broad range of transducers.

Among the relevant applications for this series are noise-source identification, operating deflecting shape, modal analysis, satellite qualification tests, high-frequency beam forming, and other high-channel-count measurements in sound and vibration. Brüel & Kjær recommends the Type 3050 series for the following work scenarios:

  • front end for PC-based data recorder Type 7708
  • measurement front-end module for PULSE measurement and analysis software
  • multi-module measurements/distributed system
  • single-module measurements
  • standalone recording (no PC) using LAN-XI Notar software
  • wireless front end for Sonoscout

The LAN-XI range includes several different designs of data-acquisition modules. This versatile system of modular hardware can serve as a standalone, single-module front end, part of a distributed module setup, or collected in five- or 11-module frames. The hardware can work with PULSE LabShop, BK Connect, and Test for I-deas. Each is also a plug-and-play device that can be reconfigured in various setups.
