Brüel & Kjær Type 3050 input models are available from Durham Instruments.

Among the great measurement solutions available from Durham Instruments are products by Brüel & Kjær, such as the LAN-XI range of data acquisition modules. The Type 3050 multi-purpose four- and six-channel series is the core of this group, built to cover an unparalleled spectrum of sound and vibration measurement tasks.

The Type 3050 series of input modules comes in two basic variants, which enables a choice between four and six high-precision channels with an input range from DC to 51.2 kilohertz.

Suitable for many applications

These data acquisition modules are versatile units, with LAN-XI hardware that boosts their flexibility. Durham Instruments recommends them for use in general manufacturing, aerospace, automation, food processing, forestry, education, the medical sector, the military, mining, packaging, power generation, alternative energy, transportation, and research and development.

The Type 3050 series is the most flexible group of input modules available, and each unit works just as well as a lone-module system or as part of a large LAN-XI measurement system. Each of these data acquisition modules has interchangeable front panels that provide the flexibility to work with a wide range of transducers. They are suitable for the following use scenarios:

  • front end for PC-based data recorder Type 7708
  • measurement front-end module for PULSE measurement and analysis software
  • multi-module measurements/distributed system;
  • single-module measurements;
  • standalone recording (no PC) using LAN-XI Notar software; and
  • wireless front end for Sonoscout.

Among the relevant applications are noise-source identification, operating deflecting shape, modal analysis, satellite qualification tests, high-frequency beam forming, and other high-channel-count measurements in sound and vibration.

Several designs of data acquisition modules are available in the LAN-XI range. This versatile system of modular hardware can serve as a standalone, single-module front end, part of a distributed module setup, or collected in five- or 11-module frames. The hardware can work with PULSE LabShop, BK Connect, and Test for I-deas. Each is also a plug-and-play device that can be reconfigured in different setups.
