miniature cable products

Two designs of miniature cables are available.

From standard cable assemblies to lanyards, Safety Cable, Lock Clad cable and more, Bergen Cable can supply solutions for all kinds of industrial cable needs. This broad inventory also includes two models of miniature cable products – Microlin and Posilign – which are designed specially for applications that involve confined spaces.

Bergen’s miniature cables also work well for critical applications in which reliability is a must, like medical devices, electronics, and aircraft interiors.

No loss of fatigue resistance

Confined spaces require cables with high flexibility, durability, and corrosion resistance, and Bergen miniature cable products fit the bill. Of the two types available, Microlin cable is constructed with diameters ranging from 0.01 to 0.048 inches; it also has breaking strengths as high as nearly 80 kilograms. This type of cable is available either bare or with a nylon jacket for higher durability. With the miniature diameters and materials, the user can easily route the cable around bulkheads and obstructions, with no risk of the cable ever losing its fatigue resistance or its high flexibility.

The supplier provides a full lineup of off-the-shelf fittings for Microlin assemblies, in addition to the cable itself. Customers can choose from threaded fittings, eye fittings, ball fittings, plug fittings (hex swage), and loop sleeve fittings. Zinc or passivate finishing is available for certain eye fittings. The vast majority of these fittings are built out of stainless steel; a few are made of brass.

Posilign miniature cable products provide benefits similar to those of the Microlin design. But in addition, they allow for minimal elongations while under load, by eliminating constructional stretch. By removing this stretch, the cable enables more accurate adjustment and minimal secondary adjustment to cable assemblies. Certain sizes come with blue or clear nylon jackets. Maximum working loads range from 3.8 to 38 pounds, and minimum breaking strengths run from 19 to 175 pounds.

Bergen Cable offers both the Microlin and Posilign designs in various sizes, with different weights, working loads, and pulley diameters available. The company’s product diversity allows customers to select virtually any solutions they need.
