Miniature cables by Bergen Cable

From custom cable assemblies to lanyards, Bergen Cable’s inventory of cable products has everything a company could need, especially in the aerospace sector. Another one of the great cable products that Bergen supplies is miniature cables, which are the perfect solution for medical devices, electronics, aircraft interiors, and other critical applications in which reliability is a crucial factor.

Miniature cables from Bergen Cable have been designed for tasks in confined spaces where maximum flexibility, durability, and corrosion resistance are absolutely necessary.

Two types of miniature cable

Bergen Cable provides two styles of miniature cables: Microlin and Posilign cable. Both of these versions are available in multiple sizes, with varying weights, working loads, and pulley diameters.

Constructed in diameters ranging from 0.01 to 0.048 inches, Microlin cable has breaking strengths of up to 175 pounds, or nearly 80 kilograms. This type of cable is available either bare or with a nylon jacket for better durability. The cable’s miniature diameters and materials enable users to route them easily around bulkheads and obstructions, during which the cable never loses its high flexibility or its fatigue resistance.

Bergen also supplies a complete line of off-the-shelf end fittings for Microlin cable assemblies. These include threaded fittings, eye fittings, ball fittings, plug fittings (hex swage), and loop sleeve fittings. Some eye fittings come with zinc or passivate finishing; most fittings are stainless steel, with a few made of brass.

Posilign cable offers the same benefits as Microlin cable does, but it allows for minimal elongations while under load by eliminating constructional stretch. The removal of this stretch also assists with more accurate adjustment and minimal secondary adjustment to cable assemblies. Some sizes come with blue or clear nylon jackets. Minimum breaking strengths range from 19 to 175 pounds; maximum working loads go from 3.8 to 38 pounds.

With this variety of designs and sizes in miniature cables, Bergen Cable can provide whatever solution a customer may need.
