Series 30000 belt conveyor idlers, from Continental Conveyor, are for continuous operation, high capacities and heavy, abrasive materials where lump size is limited by the width of the belt.

The idlers are available in a variety of types, including flat belt carrying rubber cushion, training idlers, picking roll and variable troughing idlers. Return belt idlers are available in rubber tread, beater and training types. All idlers are available in belt widths to 60 inches.

Troughed belt idlers may be furnished with end rolls inclined at 20, 35 or 45 degrees. Flat belt and return belt idlers are available with five-inch rolls. All idlers are available with five- or six-inch diameter rolls. All rolls are equipped with precision ball bearings, while a separate cartridge type contact and labyrinth grease seal offers triple bearing protection with neoprene contact members and grease-filled clearances.

The idlers are made with heavy gauge steel rolls that are carefully checked for smooth running before installation. Their sturdy, oversized shafts provide maximum rigidity, while a non-jamming end bracket provides rigid load support for heavy loads. Heavy-duty deep groove ball bearings feature long-lasting seals, while a self-cleaning inverted angle cross member stays clean. Non-clogging centre brackets are die formed to close tolerances.

The stamping cavity is grease-filled before assembly, and its large diameter permits easy movement of grease to the bearings. The efficient grease-in, cartridge seal and the large reservoir of grease make for extended operating life. The 20-mm diameter through-shafts are machined at both ends, and the bearings are factory adjusted by press fitting the cartridge seal and bearing into the roll end disc.

The inverted angle base has slotted footstraps that permit easy, quick mounting and alignment. The formed steel brackets are jig-welded to the base to ensure roll alignment, while the ribbed end brackets are contoured to provide a large clearance so that spilled materials cannot become wedged and stall the rolls.
