baghouse control

Auburn's baghouse control systems are available in Canada from Firing Industries.

Firing Industries remains a top Canadian supplier of industrial instruments, tools, and equipment for many important industries. One of the notable manufacturers whose products are available via Firing Industries is Auburn Systems, known for its measuring and monitoring equipment, including baghouse control systems.

Among other products, Auburn produces baghouse control systems designed to minimize particulate emissions in plants. The company’s B-PAC system – short for Baghouse Performance Analysis & Control – is designed to optimize baghouse performance. A recent blog entry from Auburn explains how this automated system helps companies comply with environmental regulations while continuing to operate efficiently.

Three key benefits of B-PAC

A common concern of plants these days is the difficulty of minimizing baghouse maintenance and downtime while limiting emissions. According to Auburn, B-PAC achieves this in three ways:

  1. Advanced diagnostics for filter leaks, solenoids, and diaphragms. To eliminate unplanned maintenance and shutdowns, B-PAC monitors and analyzes dust-collector emissions to identify filter failure down to the exact location, saving the time it takes to find leak sources manually. B-PAC can also identify solenoid and diaphragm failure in real time, so that the company can replace the failed parts immediately before too much compressed air is wasted.
  2. Extension of filter media life. Cleaning cycles can reduce the lifespan of filter media. B-PAC allows for compartments and filters to be cleaned only when absolutely necessary to maintain a certain differential pressure. This leads to fewer cleaning cycles, which extends the filter life longer than it would be under traditional timer boards and cleaning schedules.
  3. Automation of regulatory inspection requirements. B-PAC assists plants in complying with environmental regulations by automating and combining differential pressure control and particulate monitoring. This way, the system makes manual inspections of DP gauges and dust-collector emissions unnecessary. B-PAC makes reporting mandates simpler for manufacturing facilities, which gives workers extra time for more urgent duties.

With B-PAC, plants are sure to meet all of their environmental requirements without any needless downtime or maintenance costs. Auburn estimates a six-month return on investment for users of this system.
