York Fluid Controls carries the GHS series of Gorman-Rupp asphalt pumps.

Gorman-Rupp Pumps is one of numerous manufacturers that put their trust in York Fluid Controls to distribute their products in Canada. Among Gorman-Rupp’s offerings are asphalt pumps, ideal for such applications as refineries, terminal storage, hot mixes, and roofing plants. These rugged rotary gear pumps have a tough construction to tackle any asphalt application, plus full dimensional interchangeability with most other leading gear pumps.

Reliable handling of viscous asphalt

These units can handle clean, blended, emulsion, or filled asphalts, including abrasive, limestone/silica sand roofing material. Each of these pumps has high-strength gears to handle viscous asphalt reliably and a deep end feed area for better priming performance. Their interchangeable rear-pullout seals decrease maintenance downtime, while the thermal jackets enable temperature control and smooth operation with jacket-related viscous fluids. Other features include bidirectional, non-pulsating flow and optimized shaft support locations for long service life. Gorman-Rupp tests every pump hydraulically before shipment.

York Fluid Controls carries medium-, heavy-, and extreme-duty asphalt pumps by Gorman-Rupp. The GMS series of medium-duty units works best with clean asphalt. These cast-iron pumps are versatile products that users can configure for various applications. Features include high-strength iron gears, idler pins for self-lubrication, deep end feeds, high-performance shaft brushing, and flexible seal features. Sizes range from one to six inches, with maximum capacity of 600 gallons per minute (gpm) and maximum pressure of 200 pounds per square inch (psi).

The GHS series of heavy-duty asphalt pumps are recommended for filled asphalt and high-pressure bulk, terminal, and refinery applications. Made of cast and ductile iron, these units offer externally adjustable clearance and engineered sealing solutions, plus idler pins, thermal jackets, and deep end feeds. The size range and maximum capacity are the same as with the medium-duty option; maximum pressure is 400 psi.

Finally, the GHA series of extreme-duty pumps is built for tougher filled asphalts containing silica sand and limestone concentrations, plus other severe applications, blending high wear resistance with proven gear pump technology. Sizes from 1½ to six inches; maximum capacity of 325 gpm; maximum pressure of 200 psi.
