The machine and tooling broached serrations on one edge and a radius on one end on the first pass. The part was next rotated 180 degrees. Finally, serrations on the opposite edge and radii on the opposite end were broached.

In another customer project, the Ohio Broach crew constructed a specially designed Ohio H218X horizontal dual ram broach machine for a European customer. This hydraulically driven machine qualified the thickness of thrust bearings for engine crankshafts which were then supplied to various automotive companies. It also had a dual parallel hydraulic system that allowed one side to run independently of the other side.
