angle seat valves

Process Instruments and Components Inc. distributes angle seat valves by ODE.

Italian manufacturer ODE has been producing valves and related products for nearly six decades, and Process Instruments and Components Inc. (PIC) supplies many of this company’s high-quality products for the Canadian market. Earlier this year, ODE launched a new line of angle seat valves, the 21IZ1 series. These are pneumatically operated valves available in 2/2-way, normally closed, normally open, and double-acting variations, made out of high-quality, corrosion-resistant AISI 316 stainless steel.

Flow direction above and below

ODE’s 21IZ1 series of angle seat valves has an optimized design to reduce water hammer effect, with flow direction both above and below the seat. Combined with a PTFE sealing seat, the stainless steel body ensures long operational life under harsh working conditions; this makes these valves the perfect choice for industrial applications with liquid, gases, and neutral and aggressive steams.

PIC recommends these valves for use in a wide range of industries, including food processing, oil and gas, petrochemicals, chemicals, water and wastewater treatment, steel, the automotive sector, glass, pharmaceutical sterilization, filtration and purification equipment, heat exchangers for refrigeration and cooling, pulp and paper, rubber, plastics, cement, air or gas separators, gas-steam generators, dryers, and compressors. In addition, ODE deems them suitable for applications involving air, filling machines, fuel gases, industrial automation, industrial ovens, industrial washing machines, packaging, and thermoregulation.

The 21IZ1 series of angle seat valves come in sizes ranging from 3/8 to three inches threaded NPT or BSP, welded-end, tri-clamp, and flanged connections. Flow rates go up to 350 gallons per minute, and maximum operating pressure goes as high as 230 pounds per square inch. Fluid temperature runs from -10 to 180 degrees Celsius, and the valves suit ambient temperatures from -10 to 80 degrees Celsius, including optical position indication. Users can mount them in any orientation.

There are several kinds of port connections, and available options include limit switches and manual override. The units can be controlled by a 3/2- or 5/2-way valve. The flow Kv ranges from 59 to 1,788 litres per minute. The 21IZ1 series complies with the strict Conformité Européenne safety standard.
