straight centrifugal pumps

York Fluid Controls offers AMT's line of heavy-duty, solids-handling, end-suction straight centrifugal pumps.

A Gorman-Rupp company, AMT Pumps is a major manufacturer of fluid-control products, which are available in Canada through York Fluid Controls. This includes a line of heavy-duty, solids-handling, end-suction straight centrifugal pumps in a variety of designs. These versatile, economically priced quality pumps work for many applications, like liquid and chemical transfer, heating and cooling, recirculation, booster service, and dirty water. The stainless steel models work especially well for tasks in which rust or corrosion can develop in systems.

Impeller with unique self-cleaning ability

AMT’s heavy-duty straight centrifugal pumps each feature a semi-open impeller with a unique self-cleaning ability, which makes the pump very effective in any applications that involve solids and muddy or dirty fluids of up to one-eighth of an inch in diameter, as well as clean, clear liquids. Users can adjust the discharge position in 90-degree increments with vent and drain plugs for all positions. Each pump also has a Type 21 mechanical seal and an O-ring casing seal, and the pumps are also close-coupled to Totally Enclosed Fan Cooled motors. These units require flooded suction, as they are not self-priming.

The pumps are available from York Fluid Controls in several materials of construction, including 300 Series Investment Cast stainless steel, cast bronze, and cast iron, while the impeller is stainless steel. The cast iron model comes with a Buna-N mechanical seal and O-ring, while the stainless steel and bronze versions have Viton mechanical seals and O-rings. Optional silicon carbide seals and mounting bases are available. Front drain plugs are located 90 degrees apart, while maximum head is 194 feet at 84 pounds per square inch (PSI) and maximum flow is 500 gallons per minute. Single- and three-phase NEMA motors provide two to 15 horsepower.

Other standard features of these straight centrifugal pumps: stainless steel motor shaft and hardware; a maximum working pressure of 150 PSI; maximum temperature of 93 degrees Celsius for Viton seals and 82 degrees Celsius for Buna-N seals; optional seal wash ports and hoses for all models; and pedestal version models available for certain frame models.
