peristaltic hose pumps

York Fluid Controls carries Albin’s ALP series of low-pressure peristaltic pumps.

York Fluid Controls recently expanded its portfolio of pump solutions with peristaltic hose pumps by Albin Pump USA. This includes Albin’s ALP series, low-pressure peristaltic pumps built for pumping and dosing low- or high-viscous, pasty, pure, neutral, aggressive, or abrasive fluids – as well as liquids that contain gases or tend to froth. A major benefit is reduction of maintenance downtime.

Good for liquids containing solids

Albin ALP peristaltic hose pumps are well suited for liquids that contain solids in numerous industries, including paint, dairy, meat processing, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and wastewater. They are also useful in petrochemicals, pulp and paper, textile, soap and fats, and ceramics.

There are many advantages of using these peristaltic hose pumps from York Fluid Controls. ALP pumps are self-priming and dry-running, which is necessary in applications in which it is impossible to position the pump in the ideal location. With conventional pumps, such conditions cause wear, loss of flow, and premature failure, but ALP pumps can run dry indefinitely and self-prime up to 27 feet. In addition, they provide a lower cost of ownership due to their fast, easy maintenance. Since they contain fluids in tubes or hoses, which means that only one component needs changing, reducing maintenance expenses.

Another key benefit is accurate, repeatable dosing and metering, especially for industries that require repeatable pump control for accurate dosing. Traditional positive-displacement pumps often result in scrapped product and high costs with varying flow rates, but ALP pumps have an accuracy of up to plus or minus half a per cent across their total speed range. These hose pumps also have long life and high reliability, with no seals, valves, diaphragms, glands, or immersed rotors to leak, clog, or replace. Finally, they employ a proven design that conveys liquid within hoses without contacting any metal part.

ALP pumps come in various sizes and materials, with rotor supported by either oversized ball bearings in the casing or heavy-duty bearings of the flanged drive units, depending on size. Flow rates range from micro-litres per minute to ten cubic metres an hour.
