peristaltic hose

York Fluid Controls supplies Albin hose pumps.

Great liquid-transfer solutions by Albin Pump are available through York Fluid Controls. This includes peristaltic hose pumps for use in sewage transfer and water treatment. These pumps are ideal for this industry due to their ease of maintenance. Typical hose and lubricant-hose life averages from 5,000 to 8,000 hours. This translates into far lower maintenance costs and repair time than other pumps have.

Good for abrasives and sludge

Peristaltic hose pumps are most recommended for metering and injection, and they are built to handle the abrasives and sludge common in municipal and industrial water-treatment facilities. Users can control these pumps by motor from a variable frequency drive. The Albin hose-pump line comes with many options from the type of hose or tube used for the task, indefinite dry-run capability, no mechanical seals, and no degassing valves required.

Albin peristaltic hose pumps are perfect for many water and wastewater applications: sodium hypochlorite or potassium hydroxide, for disinfection; sodium bisulfite, for pH adjustments; de-watered sludge; ferric chloride and alum injection, for coagulation; sludge clarifiers; sodium hydroxide, for pH control and cyanide removal; fluoride; lime slurry, for corrosion control; powder-activated carbon, for odour control; anionic and cationic polymer injection, for phosphate removal and coagulation/filtration; and potassium permanganate, for oxidization and disinfection.

York Fluid Controls carries three models of Albin hose pumps: low-pressure, high-volume, and COR-TUFF – the latter being extremely chemical- and corrosion-resistant. These pumps are available in more than 20 different sizes, with flow rates ranging from zero to 880 gallons per minute. They handle fragile liquids with little wear and can self-prime up to 31 feet. Their seal-less design prevents leaks, contamination, and wear issues typically associated with hard-to-seal products.

The hoses are built of natural rubber, NBR, NBR FDA, EPDM, and Hypalon. As only the hose interiors and inserts are in contact with the liquid, aggressive and contaminated fluids can be processed without the damage common in other pump technologies. The pumps offer high levels of volumetric accuracy for sampling and metering, and reversible operation enables two-directional pumping.
