Users of liquid paint systems should audit them once a year, SAMES KREMLIN recommends.

Companies around the world turn to SAMES KREMLIN for complete, innovative precision-spraying solutions, from liquid paint systems to finishing tools. But SAMES KREMLIN team members are not merely providers of products and services – they are also seasoned experts. These trained professionals can offer a wealth of advice on how to get the most out of their solutions, from efficient use to maintenance.

The company’s senior applications engineer, Steven Romer, recently authored a guest column for Products Finishing magazine, in which he answered a reader’s question about how often it is necessary to audit liquid paint systems and how to go about it.

Three days of expert analysis

To optimize the performance of SAMES KREMLIN paint equipment and systems, Romer strongly recommends auditing liquid paint systems once a year. A proper audit is not a quick, half-baked review of the system, but a serious analysis of the equipment to find problems, the reasons for these problems, and effective solutions.

According to Romer, a satisfactory audit typically takes around three days. This should be undertaken by a team member or professional who not only understands the system, but also can make the system inspection his sole project – as opposed to filter providers, application equipment suppliers, or coating suppliers, who have other priorities. A system audit needs to be a full-time job, in order to find problems and then develop and implement corrective-action plans.

An example of such a corrective action might be adjusting the distance between the spray tip and substrate, which eliminates the need to keep paint wet by adding reducing solvent before coating. Since reducing solvents are driven off the paint during curing, omitting them reduces waste as well as saving time; it also eliminates the need to raise the oven temperature to burn the solvents off.

So SAMES KREMLIN clients can get the most out of their liquid paint systems with annual audits. They cost nothing, and they save additional costs while improving the quality of the product.

With SAMES KREMLIN’s help, manufacturers always have the best paint and finishing solutions.
