As a preferred systems integrator for Universal Robots (UR) in Canada, Intercon Material Handling has access to the manufacturer’s selection of advanced robotic automation products. This includes not only its range of robots, but a variety of end-effectors, accessories and software as well, so that the robot can be customized to the user’s exact needs.
End-effectors
Robotiq two- and three- finger adaptive grippers, designed to fit seamlessly with all UR robots, are available through Intercon. The two-finger gripper can be used to grab all parts in low volume or high changeover applications. Using the same gripper on all robotized cells makes installation, programming and maintenance faster and easier. The three-finger gripper, on the other hand, is ideal for advanced manufacturing and advanced robotic research applications that require dexterity, robustness and ease of integration. It can manipulate a variety of object shapes, sizes and textures, and control speed, position and applied force as well.
The RG2 gripper is also available, and is a perfect fit on UR robots. It works without any external cables, so any robot movement can be carried out without worrying about cable placement. The gripper is highly flexible, easy to program, and its movement and force can be controlled by the user via Universal Robots’ user interface. A secondary RG2 gripper can also be connected, allowing two grippers to be controlled from the robot.
The WSG 25-CR is another option. This intelligent gripper features an integrated network-enabled controller for precise gripping of small to medium-sized workpieces. It is safe for use in collaborative robot applications, and is made to match both UR3 and UR5 robots.
Accessories, software and more
A wide range of accessories and software solutions are also available to help tailor the robot to each application’s requirements. The options include:
The lineup also includes a range of camera kits, sensor kits, joysticks and many more accessories. The software solutions available enable force-controlled motion programming, simulation and offline programming. A software package is also available that integrates motion control systems, 3D scanners and inspection.
