Rapid Gear has been expertly building and designing individual gears, gearboxes and special purpose machinery since 1976. The Kitchener, Ont.-based company has more than 40,000 square feet of world-class design manufacturing facilities, which includes a full-service machining department. The advanced equipment it houses in this facility, combined with its highly experienced machinists and operators, has resulted in Rapid Gear earning a solid reputation for producing high-quality products.

A full-service machining department

In the 40-plus years since Rapid Gear was launched, the company has made ongoing investments in the most advanced equipment for its machine department to support its gear-cutting operations. Its CNC turning and machining equipment provide uniformity and precision on production runs, so that all jobs meet the highest quality standards throughout the production process.

The company’s fully equipped machine shop works with material supplied by the customer, or ordered to meet specific requirements, and has the capability to machine gears from two to 200 inches. The shop also has a lifting capacity of 30 tons.
