HBM’s SomatXR data acquisition system is designed for applications that require a rugged and mobile solution. The SomatXR family is available from Durham Instruments with various options, ensuring there is a configuration to meet the unique needs of each customer. 

Model CX23-R

The SomatXR CX23-R is a rugged data recorder with web interface that enables data acquisition and analysis, whenever and wherever required. As the central module of the SomatXR family, the CX23-R synchronizes all connected measurement modules with Ethernet PTPv2, stores recorded measurement data and provides computed channels and smart data compression.

The web interface is designed for simple operation without the need for software to be installed. This feature allows for convenient channel parameterization, monitoring of measurement jobs and visualization of measured data far away from the measuring point. 

The unit’s many best-in-class features include an internal memory of 16 or 64 GB; DIO interface with three digital inputs and two digital outputs; GPS interface for connecting a GPS receiver; three CAN interfaces; two Ethernet ports for connection to other SomatXR modules; and Ethernet host port for connecting a PC with up-to-date web browser. These features make the recorder flexible, expandable and modular, which allows it to be configured to meet the customer’s requirements. 

The SomatXR family

In addition to the data recorder, the SomatXR family includes the EX23-R Ethernet switch, which features 10-gigabit Ethernet ports to connect SomatXR modules and accessories. This enables up to nine measurement modules to be connected to the CX23-R field recorder or a PC via Ethernet cable. It has Power over Ethernet (PoE) functionality, which allows accessories such as an Ethernet camera to be supplied with power on five of the 10 ports. Multiple amplifier options and a Canbus module are also available.
