L. & M. Precision Products Ltd. has grown into Canada’s largest screw-machine jobbing shop, producing the highest-quality custom components for customers in many sectors. L. & M.’s 64,000 square feet of production space has everything it requires to tackle any job – including a variety of first- and secondary-operation machinery.

Equipment in optimal condition

To meet the demands of its North American client base, L. & M. continues to invest in new equipment every year. The company now has an unparalleled number and diversity of equipment for custom components – as well as trained personnel with not only the expertise to set up and run these machines, but also to repair and maintain them professionally. L. & M. keeps its equipment in optimal condition and up to date. If any individual machine is not working at its peak, it is immediately repaired or replaced.

The machine inventory that L. & M. owns falls into two groups:

• First-operation screw machines – Custom components are made by more than 70 screw machines that can handle both large- and small-volume orders, regardless of their complexity. The lineup includes an extensive list of CNC equipment with “Y” axis capability and capacities up to 60 millimetres, Davenport and Wickman multi-spindle machines with capacities up to 1¾ inches, rotary-transfer Hydromat machines with capacities up to 45 millimetres, and single-spindle Brown and Sharpe machines with capacities up to 2.375 inches.
• Secondary-operation machines – L. & M. has access to a wealth of machinery to perform many secondary operations, like machining, milling, assembly, drilling, tapping, broaching, centreless and plunge grinding, and thread rolling. Examples include Cincinnati and Royal Master centerless grinders, Brown and Sharpe single-spindle secondary-operation automatic screw machines, and a Miyano TSV 35 vertical machining centre.

This wide range of equipment allows L. & M. to manufacture virtually any custom parts in an efficient, cost-effective way. These products include welding components and assemblies, connectors, fittings, fasteners, bushings, washers, spacers, and threaded parts for components. The company provides these parts for customers in many industries, such as appliances, plumbing, welding, manufacturing, oil and gas, electronics, automotive and display.
