A standard bottled-water filtration system by 3M

John Brooks Company Limited supplies fluid-handling solutions by 3M, including filtration systems for bottled water. These systems apply specialized technology at critical process steps with a system-wide approach that helps protect equipment, extend filter lifespans, and eliminate downtime, all while boosting water quality – with cost-efficient quality, high performance, and dependability.

Using a blend of filtration and dissolved-gas control, 3M bottled-water filtration is ideal for two primary applications: microbiological control and particle reduction.

Several cartridge types available

3M manufactures the LifeASSURE series of filters for microbiological control, developed specifically for bottled-water producers. These filters reduce microorganisms throughout the bottling process. Available from John Brooks Company, 3M LifeASSURE membrane filters provide high durability for common cleaning and sanitation protocols, allowing the user to switch filters less often, resulting in extra production up-time.

For particle reduction, 3M recommends its DF and Betapure NT-T series of filter cartridges. These units help control particulates, reduce cloudiness, and maintain the natural flavour of all bottled-water products. 3M filters can be used at the bore hole, tanker off-load, before silo storage, or after carbon, sand, or multimedia filters for a consistently clear finished product in every bottle.

The following individual products are available for 3M bottled-water filtration systems:

  • High-flow filter systems. Large particle-holding capacity, which makes them ideal for many brewery applications.
  • LifeASSURE BDA filter cartridges. The BDA020 series of sterilizing grade filters complies with the highest standards for microorganism control. A complete solution for rigorous contaminant control.
  • LifeASSURE BNA filter cartridges. The BNA045 and BNA065 models reduce spoilage-causing microorganisms that can contaminate water even after bottling.
  • DF filter cartridges. The DF series includes filter media that resists rupture and lasts up to four times longer than conventional bags do.
  • Betapre NT-T filter cartridges. High-flow, absolute-rated filter cartridges with a large particle-holding capacity.
  • Betafine XL filters. Absolute-rated filters with high on-stream life and Advanced Pleat technology.
  • Micro-Klean RT filter cartridges. The RT series are all-polypropylene depth filter cartridges that provide consistent particle-reduction efficiencies, more surface life, low initial pressure drop, and high particle-reduction efficiencies.
