Ultrasonic Sensors

IBIS Electro-Products supplies many high-end industrial products for Canadian industrial users – such as several types of sensors. This includes an impressive line of ultrasonic sensors, which are an ideal choice for a variety of measurement and control applications. From distance and proximity measurement to height sensing, level control, or counting and detection, these sensors are a must in many common work situations.

A range of practical benefits

IBIS partners with top international manufacturers to ensure that its customers get the best available products on the market. For quality ultrasonic sensors, the supplier collaborates with two major German producers: Di-soric and Dietz Sensortechnik.

Di-soric manufactures two types of ultrasonic sensors: switching sensors, and switching/measuring sensors. The former can be used as proximity switches and offer high flexibility, short housing dimensions for simple machine integration, dirt and noise resistance, reliability, and long operational life. Switching/measuring sensors are perfect for distance measurement. They require only six seconds for configuration and come with reliable detection, compact designs, and significant user cost savings.

All ultrasonic sensors by Di-soric work on the principle of sound time measurement to provide reliable detection, regardless of colour or surface finish. Even liquid, powder, and transparent objects are detectable.

Dietz Sensortechnik ultrasonic sensors from IBIS operate by sending high-frequency sonic impulses, which reflect upon the object and return as an echo to the sensor. A variety of objects can be detected, including transparent items, even under challenging conditions. The sensor’s sonic beam is also ideal for tight spaces, as it can be deflected over inclined reflecting surfaces without losing any effectiveness. These sensors can cover a range from two to eight centimetres, and their high sound power enables them to detect small or moving objects.

With these advantages, Dietz ultrasonic sensors are a great choice for multiple applications, such as:

  • Level control of liquid and granules;
  • Ranging and distance control;
  • Edge guide control;
  • Minimum or maximum control;
  • Height sensing;
  • Strip tension and catenary adjustment; and
  • Counting or detection of people or objects.
