Tumbling Media

Vibra Finish Ltd.’s four types of commercially available tumbling media can help you achieve your desired finish in less time and for less money. Our diverse stock ensures that, no matter what part you’re treating or finish you desire, we have the media that can help you achieve your desired surface consistency. Our materials offer greater efficiency and less cost compared to hand-finishing operations and can perform tasks from deburring to cutting to polishing. Certain media can also increase the strength of your part, while others can treat more fragile metals without damaging them.

Media available

We carry many media in a variety of different shapes and materials, so no matter what tumbling application you need to perform, you’re sure to find the right option.

Our stock includes aluminum oxide grit, which is a low-cost, versatile solution for many finishing operations. Whether you need to round, finish or clean a part, aluminum oxide performs optimal performance.

We also offer ceramic media in a variety of grades, shapes and sizes. Great for deburring, polishing and stripping excess material, this media is ideal for any cutting application. If you are working with steel, iron or any other hard metal, ceramic media is often the best choice for the job. It also works wonders on smaller and heavier parts. We carry media in a range of grades and shapes, including ellipses, cones and more.

Our plastic media also comes in cone and triangle shapes. Like ceramic media, it’s often used to strip away excess material, to polish parts and to perform cutting operations. However, plastic media offers better finishing on parts that have already been painted or plated, and won’t damage softer metals such as brass or aluminum. It also provides a smooth, dull finish.

Finally, we stock stainless steel media that burnishes and polishes parts like no other. Its weight and strength allow it to perform more difficult finishing jobs in less time, applying greater pressure which results in stronger parts with better finishes. Parts finished with stainless steel media rarely require rust protection or maintenance, leading to greater efficiency.

Applications

These compounds are designed for surface finishing operations, which makes them a valuable component of part manufacturing in industries such as automotive, aerospace and more.
