Steam Traps

Steam traps from Keystone Steam Supplies can help your system work preserve its efficiency while preventing waste and greater maintenance costs. Steam systems can create condensate, which reduces heat and could lead to flooding. Our products can help prevent these hazards, allowing for continued productivity and reduced maintenance costs.

Types of available traps

With four different types of steam traps available from Keystone Steam Supplies, we are sure to carry products that meet your unique needs.

Thermostatic steam traps from Edison feature diaphragms that react to vapour pressure, opening and closing valves to allow air and condensed material to escape. It further uses this pressure to close when equalized. Ideal for outdoor uses and in situations where less than 250 pounds of pressure are needed, these traps can handle large quantities of air and water.

We also carry parallel and in-line float and thermostatic traps. The former opens air vents as it collects steam, causing steam to condense into water, which displaces the float and drains harmful materials. They come in sizes ranging from 1/2" to two inches and work in numerous applications. In-line models, meanwhile, collects steam in a trap shell, which again causes a float to rise and fall, which moves a float and allows for the draining of condensates. This allows for automatic draining and greater energy efficiency.

Inverted bucket traps, meanwhile, allow air to pass through its top and harmful condensed material to sink out the bottom. They feature buckets that rise and fall depending on the amount of steam present. When steam fills the bucket, it rises, shutting the trap until the steam condenses and the bucket falls again. These systems require little maintenance and are made of iron for greater strength and durability.

Finally, the TK series comes in 3/8′, 1/2", 3/4" and one-inch varieties. It works by using condensate to lift a disc, which allows the condensate to flow out of three outlets. As the condensate floats into the trap, it heats up into steam, which lowers the disc back down, closing the trap.

Industries served

Steam traps are used in a variety of industries, including textile, heating, laundries, food processing and more.
