Sliding Door Locks

We carry a wide array of specialty locking solutions at Capitol Industries Inc., ranging from drawer and mailbox locks to filing-cabinet locking systems. Another important product line we have is sliding door locks. Our portfolio includes two types of these locks – a standard model and one with a T bolt. These locks, also known as “plunger locks”, are typically used on sliding cabinet doors, but have many applications in which the “plunger” can be useful. Such is the case in locking accessories that require a push-to-lock feature, like truck air brakes and glad-hand locks, or retail store fixtures as a few of the more popular applications. But the feature can be useful in many more scenarios.

These locks come with a variety of keying options: keyed alike, keyed different, and master keyed. Each comes with an N54G key, up to 230 combinations, and five brass disc tumblers. Our sliding door locks come with a nickel finish, with other finishing options available upon request, and numbering on the key is standard with plug numbering upon request.

Each lock has a backplate measuring 51 millimetres (mm) in length, 22 mm in width, and three mm in thickness, with a space of 38 mm between the connection holes. The barrel measures 26 mm in length and 22 mm in diameter, and the bolt projection on the other side is 11 mm long and nine mm in diameter for most models.

The standard sliding door lock by Capitol is available in 2 configurations. With the 992, the key removes in a locked position only, but it removes in both locked and unlocked positions on the 990 model.

The T-bolt sliding door locks come with two bolt projections lengths. The 994 has a four-mm bolt projection and the 995 has a seven-mm bolt projection. In the T-bolt design, the shape of the T-bolt is inserted into an oval shaped strike and turned 90 degrees to create a locking configuration, while with the standard 990/992, the locking of the bolt is done within the lock itself.

Our lineup of locks for sliding doors is entirely Canadian-made, like all other Capitol products, contributing to their competitive price and constant high quality. Contact our Montreal office to find out what kind of solutions we can offer. Whatever the security application, we can find something that will fit.
