MasterSil® is Master Bond Inc.’s line of silicone systems. These elastomeric systems combine flexibility with resistance to high temperatures. We offer both one and two part systems that may be used as adhesives, sealants, coatings and potting compounds. MasterSil® silicones are used in the electronic, automotive, optical, medical, appliance and power industries.
Features and performance properties of MasterSil® silicone systems
Our easy to use one part silicone systems do not need mixing. They cure by moisture in the air. They exhibit strong adhesion to glass, plastics, metals, rubbers and other substrates. We formulate specific grades that are used in electrical and optical applications for both assembly and repair. As with all of our formulations, additional performance properties may include electrical insulation, thermal conductivity, electrical conductivity, optical clarity and resistance to vibration, shock, heat and corrosion.
For Master Bond two part systems, a curing agent is added that results in polymerization reaction to facilitate curing. Two part systems may also be formulated with an array of performance properties similar to one part silicones. Both one and two component silicones blend flexibility and toughness with high temperature resistance.
Certain grades of MasterSil® silicones comply with industry certifications including USP Class VI and ISO 10993-5 for biocompatibility, UL94V-0 and UL94V-1 for flame retardance, and MIL-A-46146 and MIL-A-46146A Type 1.
