Shock Absorbers

Rosta Inc. Canada is the Canadian distributor of the Swiss company Rosta AG’s products. Since 1945, Rosta has manufactured shock absorbers and other components of innovative rubber suspension systems. We combine our decades of experience with cutting-edge equipment and a dedicated engineering team to bring customers products they can depend on. We are the only rubber products company that offers an in-site laboratory, through which we rigorously test and maintain quality control. Our products are based on simple designs but have nearly unlimited potential to improve applications.

Shock Absorber Product Line

Rubber is an ideal material for shock absorbers because it strikes a good balance between a soft mounting that offers good isolation efficiency but poor machine stability and a hard mounting with the reverse problems. Rubber can also accept considerable overloads with short periods of time, and converts the energy absorbed into heat through internal molecular friction. The chart below documents the features of our rubber anti-vibration mountings.

Product

Features

Anti-vibration Mounting Type ESL

–Absorb medium and low frequency vibrations

–Accept compression, tension and shear loading, combined loadings

–Can be installed in any position; no tearing off is possible

–Functions in temperatures between –40ºC and 80ºC

Anti-vibration Mounting Type Y

–Multi-directional dampers

Accept compression, tension and shear loading, combined loadings

–Can be installed in any position; no tearing off is possible

–Functions in temperatures between –40ºC and 80ºC

Anti-vibration Mounting Type N/NP

–An isolating plate with a bonded metal cover and a leveling screw; all screwed directly into the machine frame

–Can compensate for sloping floors (up to 3º)

–Resistant to oils and chemicals

–Functions in temperatures between –40ºC and 80ºC

Shock Absorber Industrial Applications

We serve many industries, including mining, packaging, agricultural, forestry and transportation. Customers working in those sectors use our products as elastic torque devices for conveyor belt scrapers, universal joints for flour sifters, rail collector suspensions for subway locomotives, among many others.

Shock Absorber Manufacturing Process

Should our standard components not suit your needs, our technical staff will work with you to custom-design rubber components that fit perfectly into your design. Our manufacturing facility is certified to ISO 9001, and we are committed to quality control and safety measures.
