Self-Actuated Valves

At ODE Valve Canada, we serve businesses in many industries with an unmatched selection of valve products – and our portfolio of powerful solutions never stops expanding. The company recently introduced a line of self-actuated valves. This new range of valves grows our inventory to meet even more needs in the field of liquid management. Available in three distinct categories – pressure reducers, overflow valves, and filter pressure reducers – these units benefit users with their high customizability.

Self-actuated valves each allow a liquid flow to be regulated with no need for an external power source, since they use only the power that the fluid itself generates. Pressure in the process line itself is employed as an actuating signal to open or close the valve, so no additional auxiliary energy is required. A common application is to control the pressure at either upstream or downstream of the valve. These valves serve to maintain an adjustable set-point pressure within certain levels in pipelines or tanks; they are very useful in controlling the pressures of liquids, gases, and vapours in manufacturing, food-processing, and pharmaceutical facilities.

We carry three series of self-actuated valves, available in multiple variations:

  • R series (pressure reducers). Each of these valves regulates the outlet pressure typically connected in line with the main circuit, with the function of stabilizing the downstream pressure. ODE carries dome-loaded, high-sensitivity, high-pressure, and medium-pressure variations; each of these models is ATEX-, EAC-, and PED-certified. We recommend these for packaging, water-treatment, automotive, and chemical/petrochemical applications.
  • S series (overflow valves). This valve type regulates the inlet pressure typically connected in derivation to the main circuit to normalize possible overpressure. High-sensitivity, high-pressure, and medium-pressure designs are available. These valves are best suited for blanketing, fire protection, food storage, and the oil and gas sector.
  • FR series (filter pressure reducers). These valves combine the regulating function with a filtering stage through the use of a cartridge made of sintered material. Recommended for water treatment, oil and gas, paint systems, and plastics and rubber.
