Screw Conveyors

Continental Conveyor & Machine Works designs and manufacture screw conveyors, bucket elevators, stackers and other mechanical bulk materials handling equipment, systems and components to meet almost all industrial requirements. An industry leader since 1963, we continue to take pride in our experienced and knowledgeable staff and our quality assurance practices. Both our dedicated people and our well-planned processes allow us to maintain precise control over manufacturing tolerances and to produce dependable systems and equipment.

Screw Conveyor Product Line

Screw conveyors, pioneered by Archimedes, now feature a rotating helical screw blade that propels materials through a tube. As the screw rotates, material gathers in front of the flight and is pushed through the trough. Screw conveyors are a simple and economic way to transport liquid and granular materials.

We manufacture screw conveyors from low carbon, hot rolled steel plate, and cold rolled bar stock. Stainless steel, abrasion-resistant steel and other alloys are used to increase the life of components exposed to corrosion, contamination and elevated temperature. Alternatively, screws and components can be galvanized, nickel or chrome-plated, or coated in rubber or Teflon.

Screw Conveyor Industrial Applications

Customers in various sectors use our screw conveyors. They work in the pulp and paper, mining, food processing, quarrying and smelting industries, among many others.

Screw Conveyor Manufacturing Process

Our dedicated engineers, designers and production staff work at two state-of-the-art plants in Thetford Mines, Que. and Napanee, Ont. In addition to investing in an experienced and dedicated team, we work with many specialty production machines, including plate shears, press brakes, plate bending rolls and pantographs. These allow us to make numerous top-quality mechanical bulk materials handling products under one roof. Both plants also have in-house shot-blast cleaning and painting facilities, and machine shops that perform most of the milling, turning and boring. Our engineering and design teams also offer custom systems to meet your specific needs.
