Why use pressure relief technology?
Rupture disks are used to create a seal within a pipe or vessel. When a predetermined level of internal pressure rises, the disc bursts, preventing equipment damage caused by the high pressure.
This high pressure can be caused by blockage, heat expansion, chemical reactions, fire or loss of coolant for example.
