Northern Industrial Supply Company (NISCO) can provide PTFE expansion joints. These spool-type flexible couplings can compensate for movement and reduce noise. They are suitable for use in severe corrosive environments including chemical processing, power generation, petrochemical, water and wastewater applications. These expansion joints are expertly engineered and built to handle the most extreme applications. Our molded PTFE expansion joints can be used where lap joint, metallic joints, PTFE, and FEP-lined have been previously specified. In addition to PTFE joints, a variety of  expansion joints are available including elastomer and metallic varieties for piping and ducting systems.

PTFE expansion joints

Our PTFE molded expansion joints can be supplied in a wide range of dimensions, temperature ranges, and with 2-5 convolutions. These joints are delivered ready for installation, complete with ductile iron flanges and control units. The flanges are also available in other alloys by special request. They are also protected for atmospheric corrosion resistance and are tapped to the ANSI standard drilling of 150 lbs.

To prevent the joints from excessive axial elongation, the control units are assembled with flanges. The tie rods are set at the factory to the maximum face-to-face working limits, with lock nuts to protect against overextension.

In addition, we can provide fiberglass reinforced PTFE expansion joints for high temperature applications. The series 500T expansion joints are suitable for wet or dry services ranging up to 302 degrees C (575 degrees F). They are made from fiberglass reinforced PTFE with a zero porosity gas barrier that is mechanically bonded to the substrate.
