Businesses use Flexa conduits to protect and route electrical wiring and cable in machinery and automation. Each metal conduit is constructed by the helical coiling of self-interlocked ribbed strips of metal, forming hollow tubes through which users pull wires. These OPTOflex protective metal conduits are designed specifically for sensor and fibre-optics technologies.

These specialty conduits are made out of several different kinds of material, with a wound flat stainless steel wire helix construction. Other materials include V2A stainless steel, fibreglass braiding, and silicone rubber caoutchouc jacket sheathing. Although grey is the standard colour, other colours are available on request from IBIS for a minimum of 500 metres.

Among the user benefits of OPTOflex protective metal conduits are high compression strength, stretch resistance, high resistance to solvents and chemicals, a wide application temperature range (from -60 to 260 degrees Celsius), and monocoil silicone extrusion.
