Position, Rotary Transducers

Durham Instruments can supply a variety of rotary position transducers. Our selection includes several types of transducer technologies including Hall effect, inductive, and differential styles. These transducers feature non-contact technology that provides long life with no brushes or wipers to wear out. They also offer high quality, accuracy, and durability as they are supplied by leading manufacturers such as Measurement Specialties and Penny + Giles. We are the best single source for quantitative measuring products with our complete selection and our deep commitment to customer satisfaction.

Rotary position transducers

The different types of rotary position transducers available include:

  • Hall effect sensors used for positioning, proximity switching, speed detection, and current sensing applications. This type of non-contact transducer senses position by detecting changes in magnetic field. They include models that feature simple mounting and low-profile housings.
  • Rotary variable inductive transducers (RVIT) that feature proprietary RVIT technology and signal-conditioning on a single printed board. These transducers can offer cost savings with a high degree of design flexibility for special requirements. This product range includes space-saving transducers that measure a fraction the size of other rotary positioning devices.
  • Rotary variable differential transformers (RVDT) are transducers that use brushless, non-contact technology for reliable and repeatable performance. They can offer precise position sensing even in the most demanding operating conditions.
