Polyethylene types

High density polyethylene (HDPE)

Offering above-par impact resistance, high tensile strength, chemical and corrosion existence and low moisture absorption, HDPE is commonly used in plastic bottles, plastic lumber and corrosion-resistant piping. Our HDPE is available in both extruded and pressed sheets and rods.

Low density polyethylene (LDPE)

An excellent choice for prosthetic devices and parts which require chemical and corrosion resistance due to its greater flexibility than high density polyethylene, impact resistance and easy machinability.

Polyethylene terephthalate (PET-P)

PET-P, also going by Ertalyte® and Sustadur®, has a continuous service temperature of 100C, with a melting point almost 65C higher than acetals. Its low moisture abortion allows mechanical and electric properties to be virtually unaffected by moisture.

It is known for having excellent wet resistance combined with the best dimensional stability, a low friction coefficient and high strength, along with a resistance to some acidic solutions. PET-P has a strong resistance to chemicals and abrasion.

Ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMW)

It’s a tough and wear resistant self-lubricating plastic with a low coefficient of friction and excellent impact strength. UHMW also boasts outstanding chemical resistance and a broad temperature range. It is commonly used in bearings, bushings, bumpers, sprockets and conveyor tracks, chutes, hopper and truck-bed liners, rollers, wear strips and more…
